Look Down and Look Ahead
Look Down and Look Ahead: A Life Lesson from My 4-Year-Old Children have a way of teaching us great life lessons in the most simple of times. Playing with my 4-year-old son, he fell down as he tripped. I said to him, "Look down so that you can see where you're going and won't fall. And look forward, so you don't bump into anything!" This counsel seemed to me a great life and business lesson. Look Down: Be aware of the details—study your situation at hand, reduce risks, and watch over daily operations. Disregarding these can result in unnecessary setbacks. Look Ahead: Emphasis on vision and strategy—set goals, prepare for challenges ahead, and build long-term progress. Having clear direction keeps you focused and seizing the moment. Whether in life or business, balancing mindfulness of the present with forward-thinking ambition is key to success.
